Sad about Void Psyker

Was my number 1 voted for class and everything is damage, slight damage resistance, and shield stripping with chance to go out of control. Super cool summon names = slight AOE damage. Nothing tragic, just seems like a missed opportunity... was hoping for something more like Paradox Mage of Tome4.

Man, nothing's topping the Paradox Mage.

Having an ability that summons your future self to help you in battle? And each time it's used means that some time in the future you get teleported to the past to save your past self? And having the option of killing your past/future self?

Awesome.

Self-resurrecting Necro Thread Update: Am generally now quite happy about void psyker. I mostly hang out in the Summoner tree, and Persistent Nasty Things and dazing Tentacle summons go a long way towards helping with the feel of the class.

One trouble remaining is that Cosmic Horror... isn't either Cosmic or Horrifying. Right now the description text that says "you should not use this ability" isn't so much a warning about destructive awesomeness as an accurate assessment of its power / risk balance. It requires you to have dangerously high levels of void energy (which I'm fine with), consumes all your power (which I'm fine with)... and seems to be markedly less effective than Miasma, to say nothing of the apex abilities of other classes (so far, Ex Machina and the Force Psyker spirit in Guardian tree). I was really hoping for a nasty that stuck around, long lasting confusion effects due to madness, something more than... meh damage that isn't as good as Horror + Shadowcoil with the Misery & Rifts passives. In a perfect world I was hoping for a random Great Old One summon a la the Smuggler's Artifact bag. "Are the stars right for Azathoth, Yog-Sothoth, Cthulhu, or Hastur this time? Also, fhtagn!"

But I'm hoping it's a placeholder for the final product, a consequence of only having a single point in it, or, failing in those, there's a bug preventing its real awesomeness from manifesting.

Suggested effects by GOO:
- Cthulhu, "Cthulhu Fhtagn" - confusion, damage, chance of instant kill from tentacle devour
- Hastur, "Repairer of Reputations" - minor damage, charm or confusion
- Yog-Sothoth, "The Key and the Gate" - timey wimey stuff like slow, haste, daze, damage reflection.
- Azathoth, "Blind Destroyer." - buckets of damage on enemies, moderate damage on allies.
- Shub-Nuggurath, "Impregnation" - ongoing corrosive damage on enemies, killed enemies will hatch horrible monstrosities.
- Nyarlathop, "Thousand Forms" - fistful of random negative effects as his forms shift from target to target

Those are fantastic suggestions for Cosmic Horror. You're correct that it doesn't feel so much horrifying as "what just happened"... Adding to my list!

Great! Very exciting!

That should, of course, be "Nyarlathotep" and not "Nyarlathop" - my bad! You might also get more space-appropriate feel out of "The Yellow Sign" than "Repairer of Reputations" for Hastur.
